I would love nothing more to give this cemetery a top notched rating as my whole family have been laid to rest here. However, I sadly struggled to give it even two stars!! The facilities are in dire need of repair which is quite evident from the broken pavement at the front entrance, busted sidewalks, and pot holes throughout the facility. However, that is small in comparison to the management team. These people have absolutely no compassion for the families who have loss their loved ones. They have stripped the graves of all solar lights that are not even on the grass but contained to the head marker and simply threw them in their dumpsters without giving the family's notification. They allow their landscaping crew to mow over the head marker which have actually damaged them and knock over the secured vases, destroying the flowers and often damaging the vase. (Yes, I have a video of this)
I hate to give anybody 1 star but this feels generous right now. In July, my grandparents' granite was hit by a piece of equipment while they were opening the grave beside them. I called as soon as we realized the granite was broken, which was early July. I had to leave a message and the receptionist assured me that a manager would return my call. I waited 2 weeks and had to call a second time. I did speak with a manager and she assured me she would look into it. Again, I waited for a return call, which did not come; so I called back and spoke to the manager again, who then told me that she was putting in a claim and would call me to inform how it was progressing. Well, as normal, no phone call.....so I called again the first week in September. I was informed then that the granite had been approved on August 30 and would be installed within 8 weeks and I would receive a call when it was complete. That brings us to current day. This past Saturday, I stopped by just to check and of course, it is not fixed. I called the office while I was standing in the cemetery and was told that the manager was with a family. Out of respect for that family, I did not go inside but was assured that the manager would return my call that day. It is now Monday and I still have not gotten that return phone call. This is not only disrespectful to me but to my grandparents as well. Their services are not cheap and the very least I expect is to be kept updated on the progress. I understand that things happen when large equipment is involved. In the beginning, I was not even mad, just wanted it fixed. Now, I'm just mad. I do not want to seek legal advise but it seems to be going in that direction since I can not get a return phone call.
A family member recently passed and was buried in the new section in the rear of the cemetery. The man was 76 years old and most of the family and friends who attended the funeral were in their 70s and 80s. The cemetery director would not allow cars down the graveled drive that led to the gravesite. Instead, those paying their respect had to walk 50 to 60 yards down the graveled drive to the burial site!!! Many were very unstable in their gate but was offered no assistance. Unfortunately, it is very obvious that this is truly a "business" that is only out to make the fast buck off of those experiencing the saddest moments of their lives!! Where is the compassion? Where is mission to provide a proper and well maintained resting place? Where is personal touch that this cemetery use to have and appreciate? Obviously something has drastically changed in the last two years as evident by the reviews. Two years ago the reviews were excellent but have hit rock bottom... is this a reflection of change of owners/ management... I would dare say yes!!!
